Interview with Digital Nations:
Talk about the record. Where did you get the idea from? What is the inspiration behind this album?
The idea for THE ALBUM ” ELEVATED ” has been an ongoing project for many years. I am a perfectionist, so over the years I have tweaked my sound from pedal to pedal and amp to amp and everything possible. I was finaly pleased with the tones and songs for this album. I will continue to do the same for the next album. I would say the inspiration comes from life experiences, my family and my Daughter’s ( Shelby and Abby ). My Grandfather John Laniewski was a major influence in mypassion for music. My Grandfather owned and played almost every instrument there is. He played accordion in a Polka band. When my Grandfather was dying of cancer he told me ” Don’t ever stop playing you have to much talent “. I think about that day all the time.
Who are the musicians that play on the record?
Me, myself and I ( HA HA ). I had a hard time finding musicians for the recording process, so I moved forward on my own. I am about to start working with a great group of talented musicians for this album and future albums. I played all instruments except the drums, I have a few great drum programs that I used for the album.
Who are some of the bands/musicians that influenced you?
Too many to mention. I am a huge Dream Theater fan. Almost everything from the 70′s, 80′s and 90′s. Head Bangers Ball on MTV was the big thing for me. Guitar influences range from : Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhodes, Frank Gamble, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Stanley Jordan, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Andy Timmons, George Lynch, Jason Becker, Greg Howe, Tony McAlpine, Vinnie Moore, Ritchie Kotzen, Paul Gilbert, Dave Weiner, Rob Balducci, Brad Paisley and so many more, I could write a bookmof all the bands and musicians that influenced me.
Do you have any projects that you are currently working on right now? Any in the future? Any plans to tour?
I am currently getting all the right musiciaans for my long term instrumental project. I am also currently in a try out phaze for a Christian based band as the lead guitarist. I am also trying to land a job as a product specialist for a pedal and amp company to tour and demo the products.
Any interesting stories you would like to share with us about the recording process?
The recording process took about a year to complete. I wrote so many songs and was not feeling a lot of them. The ones I didn’t complete were thrown together and didn’t have any heart and soul to them. I play with emotion and want the listeners and fans to feel it as well.
What was the most challenging aspect of creating this record?
The big challenge was balance between the writing, recording, tone changes and family. A lot of time and effort went into this album. My family was wonderful and understanding in this venture.
Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge for offering support creating this album?
