DN: Talk about the record. Where did you get the idea from? What is the inspiration behind this album?
The album is about the contrasts and conflicts we all experience in our everyday life. The album title 'Timeless Hour' refers to the strange fact, that we all have all the time of the world to invent ourselves and live a full life, but at the same time, we often seem to run out of time. My main inspiration and motivation was to write songs which are groovy, melodic, and at the same time challenging and unique.
DN: Who are the musicians that play on the record?
I want to say a big thank you for all the awesome guest players who were kind enough to not only contribute to the album, but they all have come up with amazingly inspired pieces of music. Troy Stetina (Second Soul), Andy James (Sacred Mother Tongue), Brett Garsed (Planet X), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), Mats Haugen (Circus Maximus), Marcel Coenen (Sun Caged), Thorsten Koehne (Edens Curse), Mischa Mang (Ivanhoe), Sergey Boykov (Shadow Cry).
DN: Who are some of the bands/musicians that influenced you?
The list can go on for hours, but I list some of my main influences: Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Andy Timmons, Guthrie Govan, Gary Moore, Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, David Gilmour, Jason Becker, Symphony X, Adagio, Dream Theater, Circus Maximus, Pagan's Mind, Pink Floyd.
DN: Do you have any projects that you are currently working on right now? Any in the future? Any plans to tour?
Recently, I’ve become an official Jam Track Central artist. I'm proud to be in this lineup of guitarists with Guthrie Govan, Jack Thammarat, Jan Cyrka and Alex Hutchings, just to name a few. Check out the homepage of Jam Track Central (
http://jamtrackcentral.com/jamtracks) for lots of great players, great backing tracks, accurate TABS and full albums! Besides, I concentrate on promoting and playing the new album 'Timeless Hour', and I'm very excited to be able to show my world and my music to the listeners. I hope that not only fans of guitar music will respond positively to the album, but all the people who live with open hearts and minds. We'll start organizing a tour for the beginning months of 2012.
DN: Any interesting stories you would like to share with us about the recording process?
I will never forget the artistic, professional and yet helpful and kind approach of the amazing musicians I've asked to contribute. The way they responded to me and my ideas has been far beyond my imagination! I was able to collaborate with the great Troy Stetina, writer of some legendary guitar books, who is a phenomenal guitarist. Troy has recorded a magnificent solo for my new album, and he asked me to be a regular contributor for his new Digital Guitar Magazine. The experience of working with the amazing Brett Garsed has been also one of my big moments of my career.
DN: What was the most challenging aspect of creating this record?
As the title suggests, the time factor. The album has been written within a 'Timeless Hour', which in fact took almost 2 years. While working on side projects, I've always tried to keep my main focus on this album, because I've felt that I have caught something important.
DN: Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering support creating this album?
Besides the fantastic guest players mentioned above, I’d like to thank the support of Zsofia Oszlanczi, Gergely Banos, Sandor Petrovics, Gabor Kiss and Krisztian Nagy at Echo Recording Studio, Gyorgy Danev, Agnes Koehler, Andras Jokuti, Aniko Kovacs, Gabor Major, Endre Muskovics, Laszlo Csabina, Viktor Posta, Bence Locsei, Szilveszter Bodor, Kincses Turbo Team, Zoltan Hanko, Koros-torok.hu and Diana Roder at Jonas Tamas Canadian Fan Club.
